Houses are growing larger every year as Americans attempt to outdo neighbors and friends and to spend more and more income on housing “things”. Interestingly family members living under one roof had been declining for 160 years, until the slight uptick this decade**. Interesting.
The average master bedroom size in the US in 2013 was 309 square feet. This was an estimated increase of 12.4% since 2003 and 44.7% since 1983. If the trend continues master bedrooms are going to be 492 square feet in 2053.

So at this rate in another 40 years, master bedrooms will be 491.6 square feet, which is about 20 x 25′, or what I would consider a tiny home mansion. Maybe there will be a Monster King bed then that is 15′ wide by 12′ long.
