Lucid Mattresses

Gel Memory Foam

The Lucid gel memory foam mattress comes in three different sizes; 5, 8, 10, 12, and 14 -inches. The beds are created from premium quality memory foam that contours to your body. It consists of two layers alongside a cover.

The top comfort layer is a 3-inch gel memory foam, offering a plush soft feel and highly responsive to pressure. It contours the body at all the right angles without causing any sinkage for a relaxing snooze time.

The gel layer is infused with cross-sectional perforations for improved air circulation to meet the needs of hot sleepers.

Underneath the comfort layers is the 7-inch, high-density polyfoam layer. Being the foundation layer, it’s durable and provides stable support to the entire construction.

It also prevents premature sagging as it responds well to compression.

Meanwhile, the 12 bed also contains 2-inches of comfortable bamboo charcoal layer for a cool, hypoallergenic, and smell-free sleep surface.

The 5 comes with a 4-inch base, 1-inch gel-infused layer, and a soft polyester cover, while the 8 has a 6-inch base, 2-inch gel memory foam, and a luxurious Tencel cover.

Latex

The Lucid natural latex + memory foam comes at a huge 16-inches. This innovative mattress provides a fantastic blend of top-notch latex and premium quality memory foam to offer excellent spinal alignment.

The top is quilted 1-inch bamboo charcoal with memory foam, providing a plush, cool, and naturally hypoallergenic sleep area.

Underneath is a 3-inch memory foam comfort layer that perfectly contours your body curves to relieve pressure points. Furthermore, you also enjoy maximum spinal alignment, irrespective of your sleep position.

Its dense structure mitigates motion transfer, making it a suitable choice for those who share a bed.

The third layer is a 2-inch latex layer, featuring excellent responsiveness and buoyancy to support combination sleepers.

Due to its enhanced resilience, sleepers can easily toss and turn in the bed without any stuck-in feel. It also offers a smooth transition from a plush memory foam layer to a dense base to prevent discomfort.

Last comes the 10-inch, thick, high-density base made of high-quality foam. Due to its height and dense structure, sleepers enjoy a firm and stable base that responds well to pressure.

The Latex Hybrid comes in two different varieties; latex hybrid and bamboo charcoal and aloe vera hybrid. Plus, both are available in two different sizes, i.e., 10 and 12-inch.

The latex hybrid mattress is an incredible blend of memory foam with polyfoam laid out over pocketed coils. The 10-inch bed comes with three layers and a knitted cover.

The comfort layer is memory foam, offering a highly responsive and cradled support to relieve aching joints and muscles.

The charcoal-infused layer helps regulate your temperature throughout the night. Underneath this layer is a soft, gel-infused, poly foam layer. This comfortable layer helps relieve your pressure while keeping you cool.

Last is your supportive foundation layer containing pocketed coils. The individually wrapped coils offer excellent motion isolation, making it a perfect choice for those sharing beds.

These resilient coils are highly durable and robust to withstand weight and pressure. Its secure edge support makes the mattress ideal for the elderly and kids.

The bed is encased in a polyester cover that feels soft to the touch. The durable fabric can withstand years of use without any signs of wear and tear.

It is a perforated, breathable material designed to maintain sleep temperature.

The latex hybrid offers a medium-firm comfort level to support back and combination sleepers. If you go for the 12-inch, you get an additional transition layer. It increases the plushness of the bed to support side sleepers.

The 10 and 12-inch bamboo charcoal and aloe vera contain three layers encased in a breathable cover.

The first comfort layer is made out of bamboo charcoal and memory foam. This significant infusion ensures all sleeping styles can enjoy a comfortable sleep with excellent temperature regulation.

The second layer is a memory foam mixed with aloe vera. It means the mattress offers a cool and refreshing surface to lay on each night.

The brand also offers its customers a ten years warranty. It covers manufacturing defects in the material and construction only. Wear and tear, spills, improper maintenance, and other defects caused intentionally are not under warranty.

Are They toxic?

Lucid mattresses are not toxic, which is a big pro! The CertiPUR-US certificate ensures they are free of hazardous chemicals and ozone depleters. However, you may experience an initial smell that dies off within a few hours or a day or two.

Do They Off-gas?

Like any other memory foam mattress, Lucids also off-gasses. Generally, you’ll notice most of the smell is gone in the first 24-hours. A lingering smell may persist for a day as well.

How long to be delivered?

Typically, your package takes about a day or two to be shipped if you purchase from the website. However, if you buy from third-party sellers or Amazon, the shipping time may differ.

What are the delivery charges?

Can I Flip It?

Flipping is not recommended, especially the hybrid ones. But you may rotate it after every six months for consistent use and longevity. So this is techically a con, but few manufactures make models that are two-sided.

Common Complaints (General Cons)

Gel-infused memory foam and plush memory foam average 3.9 ratings on Amazon, whereas latex mattresses show a 4 rating, and hybrid mattresses have an average 4.4 rating on Amazon.

One of the most common complaints about Lucid is that the bed starts leaving impressions after a couple of years of use.

Many also noticed it started sagging, which led to backache and sore muscles.

A few wrote that theirs lost most of its firmness by the end of the year. Apparently, all parts of the mattress felt uncomfortable.

Another complaint consumers had is that it breaks down pretty fast compared to competitors.

Many people mentioned how, despite saying plush, Lucid was still pretty firm, especially for petite sleepers, who found it challenging to sleep peacefully.

TIP: Some customers found no difference in the firmness between 12 and 14-inch mattresses.

The Lucid Hybrid also posed a problem for buyers. A significant number complained that there was fiberglass leakage from the mattress.

One more complaint we saw was that these mattresses were still hot, despite the gel-infusion.

The foam traps the heat and makes it uncomfortable to enjoy a good night’s sleep.

Apart from this, consumers noted that the customer service was less than satisfactory. The warranty coverage did not cover anything, and sometimes the company didn’t reply either.
